Emily Taylor Smith is a new fresh voice from Halifax, born in West Yorkshire to a mother who was an organist and drummer in a marching band.
Emily originally entered Junior Star Singer in 2016 and went through to the final. Captivating listeners from all over the UK with her unusual classical sound with a folk twist she was always going to fly high.
Emily has performed with the Yorkshire Youth Choir at several venues and this year will be singing at Cathedrals in Poland as part of their platform to showcase. As a young talented vocalist, she always dreamt of being a major solo artist with a unique sounding voice. From as young as three she wanted to sing, featuring in solos and in school plays. Now as a young adult, with influences from Evanescence, Enya, Clannad, Kate Bush and The Corrs, her graceful ability to mix her style of classical, pop and folk traditional music is outstanding.
